Review & Swatches: Collistar Jewel Eyeshadow Strass Effects

As a hardcore glitter, reflects, and anything that shimmers fan, I’m always on the look out for more glimmering goodness.
Collistar recently launched their Summer collection called: “Bronze Look”. Kind of an odd name for such a beautiful Summer collection with some outstanding new products, if you ask me.
One of those outstanding new products is Collistar’s new Jewel Eyeshadow Strass Effects..

Collistar’s Jewel Eyeshadow Strass Effects come packaged in a classic white box with Gold-chrome detailing. It’s classic, simplistic and very taste-friendly. (Taste-Friendly: “About anyone will like it, because there’s nothing to hate on.”)
The tube itself is very practical and very taste-friendly again with its Gold detailing and see-through base, making it perfect to see the color inside.

Holy Worlds of Glimmer on a biscuit. Aren’t these stunning? These Jewel eyeshadows start off with a creamy consistency, but once blended out, they set in a powder finish.
Now, that’s amazing, but just look at those colors. Both are too stunning for words.
I love the seductiveness of the Copper and glamour of the Gold. Both are super pigmented, and a little goes a very long way. No really, be gentle on squeezing these tubes, you don’t want to waste any of this glitter goodness, do you?
So, What’s the verdict?
These are so, so much fun. Glamour, Sparkle, Glimmer Goodness: It’s all in these little tubes. Call me a huge fan! The formula of these Jewel Eyeshadows are great as they start super pigmented and creamy, but blend down to a dazzling powder finish. All in all, if you’re a dazzling, sparkle lover these are perfect for you!

Review & Swatches: Kardashian Beauty Endless Summer Bronzer #520

If there’s one guilty pleasure I have a love/hate relationship with, it is the Kardashian klan.
From porn, to a reality show. From a reality show to Miami, and somehow from Miami they went to: “We’re super professional makeup makers, right Khloe?” *wink*
And although my love/hate relationship with them keeps changing every ten minutes, today I decided to put Kardashian’s Beauty Endless Summer Bronzer to the test..

Kardashian Beauty Endless Summer Bronzer comes in a big Rose Gold, plastic case. It has a clear top with “KHROMA Beauty” written on top, this however changed as the Kardashianklan got sued and had to rename their brand to: “Kardashian Beauty”.
I like what the sisters had in mind for this packaging. They wanted to give us a luxe, Rose Gold feeling. Luxury that people even with a lower budget can get. However, execution-wise it doesn’t really give me that. I like the color of the Rose Gold but quality-wise, I wouldn’t want to drop this bronzer as the plastic doesn’t feel like it would last too long.

Kardashian Beauty: Endless Summer Bronzer #520 – (€16,95 EUR /$14.99 USD) -
Actual product-wise this bronzer is fan-freakin-tastic. I love the option of having three separate colors and the ability to just mix the three together and have a nice medium shade. The bronzer is pigmented but doesn’t give the dreaded “BAM! Bronzer on ya face!” finish.
It’s just the right tone of bronze without making you look like Snooki on a holiday.
What worries me the most with very affordable products is their tendency of creating a lot of loose powder, once you dip your brush in them. This bronzer does not have that issue, which makes me a very happy kamper.

So, What’s the verdict?
This Endless Summer Bronzer product-wise is close to perfection. I love the colors, formula and finish, all at such a low price point. I am however not a fan of it’s “cheap” packaging. I love the concept, the colors and the overall appearance, but I wouldn’t really call this a durable miracle. I’d recommend this to all fair-medium complexion people in need of a very good bronzer, in a not too durable case.

Matte Lipstick - Makeup İdeas

The darker the shade of matte lipstick, the more cracks or flaky, dry skin will show. Prepare your lips well by applying plenty of lip balm, leaving for a few minutes and then buffing with a toothbrush or a soft, damp flannel to remove any dead skin. Follow this with more balm or cream, but nothing too greasy as your lipstick will slide off. Try The Body Shop Aloe Lip Treatment(opens in a new window), which soothes without leaving an oily residue.
One single texture across your face can look dull and ageing, so use your imagination and play around with textures as well as colours to contrast with your matte lips. Choose Lord & Berry Vogue Lipstick(opens in a new window), which has beeswax to prevent dryness - then experiment with dewy cheeks or shimmery eyes to avoid that 'flat' look.
"Instead of just using lipstick, start by lining and filling your entire lip with lip-liner, then pat lipstick on using your fingertip. With mattes, I prefer a softer, less defined finish as it looks more modern," says make-up artist Kenneth Soh(opens in a new window). Dab on Collection 2000 Cream Puff Lip Cream(opens in a new window), a soft, easy-to-wear matte.
Darker skin can carry off really dramatic matte shades, as long as skin is kept moist and sheer. Revlon Matte Lipstick(opens in a new window) is packed with pigments and lasts for hours – pick 'In The Red', a show-stopping crimson that adds a pop of colour to black and Asian skin.

The Secrets to Padma Lakshmi's Perfect Nude Lipstick

Is it just me, or is half the intrigue of Top Chef the fact that Padma Lakshmi manages to look so flipping gosh-darn perfect in every situation and climate? Well, my pal celebrity makeup artist Nick Barose was so kind as to share a few of Padma's makeup secrets that we can steal this spring; he did this gorgeous nude lip on her for a Bravo event yesterday.

"We did 'statement nude' lips on her," Nick says. "Nude lipstick that looks too natural can be too casual—best to save it for daytime. A nude that's a bit paler than your skin can look unnatural, but that's what makes it more dramatic and gives it more statement." Hmm...Interesting. Here's how to choose a statement nude like Padma's: "The key is to have a hint of sheen and a tad of color like peach or pink in it; too matte would look pasty." And pair it with darker eyes and/or extra eyeliner and mascara, plus a pop of blush, so you won't look washed-out. On Padma, he used YSL Lip Pencil in Nude Beige and Tom Ford Lipcolor in Spanish Pink. "Line your lips with a deeper nude tone lip pencil and then blend the lipstick on top so the lip liner doesn't look too dark," he explains.

Another trick to keep in mind: "To make pale nude lips pop a bit more, try adding shimmery highlighter (like Nars Multiple Bronzer in Malaysia) above the V of the lips and on top of your lipstick, but only on the center of your bottom lip, so it catches the light and adds dimension." Use a small concealer brush to place it strategically.

The other makeup you see on Padma: Tom Ford Beauty Violet Dusk Eyeshadow Palette and Estee Lauder Pure Colour Blush in Hot Sienna.
